Zuhra Mohammad Amin was born in Mazar-e-Sharif, Afghanistan in 1996. Her and her family fled to Kyrgyzstan during that same year and eventually found sanctuary in Toronto in 2004. As a visual artist, Zuhra has extensive experience in lifestyle photography and her passion is capturing people in their natural and candid state. She applied to OCAD University in 2018 and will receive her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2023. Amin will exhibit her work ‘The Intimacy of the Mundane’ at OCAD University’s 108th annual Graduate Exhibition. Amin’s latest photography project depicts ten couples in their shared spaces, documenting the way in which mundane routine exposes the deepest levels of intimacy in human relationships.
